18 Months Seizure Free and Going Strong!

Our Kitchen Island Gang were all celebrating this morning with Henry and some cake in recognition of a number we have not hit with no seizures in a very long time. Our HEROES have a little time off this winter, and I picked up some work doing a painting a day in November in recognition of Epilepsy Awareness Month. My challenge is complete and most of my work that didn’t sell through social media is on there. I am still uploading things this week! It’s a process! I am available for commissions on any scale and all are 100% tax deductible. I love a challenge so feel free to reach out! We are looking forward to a fantastic 2021 with the pandemic in our rear view mirror and some exciting fundraisers planned! So stay tuned and have a safe Holiday season! Nancy and Crew!

“HEROES Walked Winnetka”

Thank you to all who donated for our Walk on September 20th! We had a Beautiful Day Out and were led on our way by our AMAZING Winnetka Fire Department! We raised Thousands of dollars to make a big difference in the lives of so many fighting Epilepsy. We recently gave $10,000 to The Danny Did Foundation and the Epilepsy Foundation of Greater Chicago. It feels so great to make a difference. We thank you for your continued support of our endeavors!

The Art studio is open and doing amazing! We have had many students come by! ALL proceeds go to research and support programs. $75 for a 1 1/2 hour private lesson and $150 for groups of 3 or less. Email me if interested!

This has become very popular, so I will be opening up blocks of 5 weekly lessons. Private or groups of 3 or less. $325.00

1 1/2 hours, Time to be determined by both parties.

Summer Success!!

We had and AMAZING sale last week and are so thankful for all who stopped by to see us! I am humbled with how much art we sold and we were left with 3 cookies! That’s it!! We are so grateful for all our HEROES who participated for this event and so proud of them. We had our best year ever and are so appreciative of OPTIQUE and Dr. Harms who sponsors us every year. We are working on a HEROES WALK WINNETKA for September, so stay tuned on ways to sponsor us as we walk a 10K through town to raise awareness and funds for Epilepsy! It takes a village to make a difference, and we have one!

We Flipped the Page on Epilepsy!

Before the world changed, we did some good at the awesome Book Stall in Winnetka. We raised a lot of funds for research and support programs, and also collected a few boxes for the kids at Lurie Children’s!

Thank you for your support!

We had a great event at The Book Stall, and are thankful for all who worked for us baking, working the event, those who stopped by, or donated online! Until our next event I will be doing a lot of painting and update our Art Page often! Check it out below right, the ART FOR HEROES tab near the picture of me painting will take you right to it!

We are going to buckle down and stay safe like all of you and we wish all of you health and safety in the coming weeks. If you happen to shop Amazon you can continue to support us by shopping Amazon Smile and choosing us as your charity! Our next event is outside July 17,18th at the Winnetka Sidewalk Sale on Lincoln Street with our favorite shop Optique!

Why Donate to Epilepsy???

By, Henry Iida

I think people should donate money to Epilepsy. If we donate enough money we would find a cure and be free. People with Epilepsy won’t have to deal with space outs and pills. During a space out, my brain stops working for a few seconds and I pause in a conversation. If I was riding my bike, I could fall off. If I didn’t have space outs, I wouldn’t get stuck in a conversation or fall off my bike. Give money to Epilepsy so I don’t get hurt.

Scientists can use the money to study Epilepsy. The scientists look at your brain. They are looking for what causes Epilepsy. Then could stop Epilepsy and find a cure.
